A Skaneateles woman has been arrested on felony DWI charges after getting into an accident with a vehicle that she took without permission, police said.
In a news release Wednesday, the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office said that Ginger D. Gilday, 29, took possession of a vehicle from a relative's house in the town of Cato without their permission on Saturday.

During their investigation, deputies learned that Gilday had been involved in a motor vehicle accident in Onondaga County. According to New York State Police blotter reports, the accident took place in the town of Elbridge at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. There were no injuries.
Gilday was subsequently charged with aggravated DWI for operating a聽motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content level of at least .18 of 1% with a previous conviction within the last 10 years, driving while intoxicated with a previous conviction within the last 10 years, and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. All are Class E felonies.
State police released Gilday on an appearance ticket. On Sunday, she was arrested by the sheriff's office for third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a Class A misdemeanor. She was also released by deputies with an appearance ticket, and is scheduled to appear in Cato Town Court on May 5.
