Marion Davis (Jurnack), a shining example of kindness, love, and unwavering service to others, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the age of 89.
Born August 17, 1935, Marion spent her life embodying goodness in its purest form. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and community member whose gentle humor touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Marion was the loving mother of two sons, Greg Davis (Frederick, MD) and Paul Davis (Liverpool, NY), and the proud grandmother of Benjamin Davis, whom she adored beyond measure. She was a cherished mother-in-law to Ashley Davis and Amy Armstrong, and a source of warmth and guidance to all who entered her home, welcoming neighbors and neighborhood children with joy.
A tireless advocate for literacy, Marion volunteered for many years to help others discover the joy and empowerment of reading. She believed that every person deserved the dignity of literacy, and she gave her time generously to make that a reality for countless individuals.
She was a Cub Scout den mother, a Drum and Bugle Corp mom, an avid knitter, and was a devout and devoted member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, where she participated faithfully in St. Marion's Sisterhood. Marion was renowned for her Pascha bread, pierogies, Welsh cookies, Halupki, nut rolls, and pies - her kitchen served as a gathering place for family, friends, and community.
Marion was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Keith Davis, who passed earlier this spring. The family takes comfort in knowing that they are now reunited, side by side as they were meant to be. The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Michael of St. Nicholas Church for his spiritual support and to the dedicated staff of The Commons, whose loving care helped ease Marion's journey home.
Marion Davis lived a life that reminded us what is good and holy in this world. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
Memory Eternal.
