But when they found themselves in need of a boarding service for their two Saint Bernards, the only one nearby was about 45 minutes away from their Union Springs home.
After doing some research, the Bowens realized there is need for pet boarding locally and nationwide. That's why, on April 1, they opened Gully Brook Kennels in the village.
They built a new structure from the ground up, with 16 pens and a grooming station. A fenced area will later be added behind the facility for more running space.聽
Lynn spends her days feeding, walking and cleaning up after her canine customers. She treats each dog as if they were her own.
Proof of vaccinations from a licensed veterinarian for DHPP, rabies and bordetella is required for admission to Gully Brook.
Having your dog on a flea treatment program is preferred, but if fleas are found the Bowens will bathe and treat them to prevent spreading.
