Two people have pleaded guilty to stealing more than $1,000 worth of items from the Wegmans in Auburn last fall.
In a news release, Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci said that Maurice Gaston, 19, and Jasmine Felton, 32, both of Syracuse, have pleaded to one count each of fourth-degree grand larceny before Judge Jon Budelmann in Cayuga County Court. Each admitted to participating in the theft, which took place in October. They were quickly arrested by Auburn police,聽Grome Antonacci said.
Gaston pleaded guilty on Tuesday and faces one to three years in prison when he is sentenced in July. Felton pleaded guilty previously and was sentenced to six months in prison followed by five years of probation in March. There is an active warrant for a third defendant, Cameron Ogletree, 26, of Syracuse,聽Grome Antonacci added.
