Port Byron softball opened its season on Tuesday with a 14-2 win over Cato-Meridian in five innings at Cato-Meridian High School.聽
Jenna Jump led the Panthers on the mound, allowing one earned run, three hits and three walks while striking out seven in a complete game. She added one RBI, one hit and two walks at the plate.聽
Luciana DeBois racked up four hits, three runs scored, two RBIs and two stolen bases. Mallory Mills tallied two hits, two RBIs, three stolen bases, one walk and one run scored.
Alivia Swarthout put up two RBIs, one hit, one walk, one run scored and one stolen base, while Catarina DeAngelis concluded with two RBIs, two hits and two runs scored. Cameryn Brundage and Raelee McDowell each had two hits and one RBI.
Mackenzie Mahoney led the Blue Devils with one RBI, one hit, one run scored and two stolen bases. Ryan Holland walked once and scored, while Madyson Weller and Avani Cole each picked up a hit.
