But affidavits filed by the department with Auburn City Court, provided to ÈËÊÞÐÔ½» on Tuesday, shed further light on the events that led to the shooting.
One witness said he was with Agee when Agee asked his cousin if she was OK. Someone replied with "a smart comment," to which Agee replied, "stop messin'." The commenter's boyfriend, identified as "Dave," then "pulled a handgun out of his waistband and started shooting Ronell and simultaneously stated 'Stop playing with me.'" The witness said they heard about seven shots.
In a separate affidavit, Auburn police Officer Patrick LaGrow said he and Officer Anthony Bucci were patrolling the area during the party when they heard four or five gunshots. They noted that Dixon did not resist arrest, and that as they took him into custody a crowd of more than 100 people formed around them.
