Speaker, consultant and CEO Gwen-Webber-McLeod, of Auburn, has released her latest book, "Your Leadership Journey: Living and Leading In and On Purpose."
According to a news release, the book draws on Webber-McLeod's decades of experience advising business, nonprofit and government leaders and challenges conventional linear views of leadership.
"Too often, we believe leadership is a checklist of accomplishments or titles," Webber-McLeod said. "But true influence is built through the unpredictable terrain of life. This book is a field guide for anyone ready to embrace their unique path and lead with courage, no matter where they start or where the journey takes them."
Webber-McLeod is the president and CEO of consulting firm Gwen, Inc., and chair of the Auburn Industrial Development Authority. In the book, she says the most significant growth often results from unexpected detours, setbacks and moments of self-doubt. Strategies she provides to readers include embracing the "unexpected path," building authentic influence and cultivating resilience.
This fall, Webber-McLeod will support the book's launch with signing and discussion events on Oct. 9 at the Legacy Drama House in Rochester, Dec. 4 at the Salt City Market in Syracuse and Dec. 11 at Auburn Public Theater in Auburn. The book is available through Clare Songbirds Publishing House, Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
