An Auburn man has been sentenced to prison after he was found with cocaine in his car and home last year.
Robert J. Barnes, 49, was sentenced by Judge Jon Budelmann to 3.5 years in state prison for second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class A felony) in Cayuga County Court on Tuesday morning, Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci told 人兽性交.
Barnes, who pleaded guilty to the charge, also received five years of post-release supervision. Grome Antonacci said the sentence was adjourned in recent months due to medical issues.
Barnes was arrested in April 2024 after the Auburn Police Department conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle, where officers found half an ounce of cocaine.
About 4 ounces of cocaine were discovered at Barnes' residence after a search warrant was executed there later the same day.
Barnes' girlfriend, Christina M. McQueeney,聽was sentenced in January to five years of probation for third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (a Class B felony). The district attorney's office said she acted as Barnes' accomplice by possessing drugs that he intended to sell聽in their home.
