Wells College has taken the next step in the potential sale of its Aurora campus.聽
CBRE, the college's real estate broker, has issued a call for offers to buy the 127-acre campus. According to the college, the call for officers "signals that those with serious interest in proposing to purchase the campus should complete their materials for submission and consideration by the (board of trustees)."聽

Wells College announced in October that it selected CBRE, a commercial real estate firm, to market the campus. The campus was listed for sale in November.聽
In January, CBRE and Wells held a public meeting in Aurora to discuss the sale of the campus. The firm said there is "serious interest" in the property, especially from developers.聽
CBRE reps said more than 60 interested parties had signed a confidentiality agreement that provides access to more information about the campus.聽
The call for offers was expected based on the timeline CBRE outlined at the meeting. The firm had a three-month marketing period before seeking offers.聽
Rupprecht said at the time that he believes they will have offers based on their conversations with those interested in the property.聽
Wells College is selling the campus as it winds down operations and disposes of its assets. Citing financial difficulties, the college closed at the end of the 2023-24 academic year.聽
The sale of the campus must be approved by the state attorney general's office.聽
