So many things about Josh Allen remained unchanged Tuesday at Buffalo Bills mandatory minicamp.
He sprinted downfield after pre-practice stretching. He threw dart after dart during receiver-only drills. And he thrilled dozens of local high school flag football players by signing their hats and posing for pictures.
But one thing was new. One big thing. One life-changing thing. Just below his play-call wrist band, Allen was wearing a black wedding ring.
鈥淕ot some hardware now,鈥 he said.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen meets with reporters on Tuesday for the first time since his wedding on May 31.
The new hardware entered Allen鈥檚 orbit when he married actress Hailee Steinfeld on May 31 in California. When asked about his football exploits, Allen generally changes the subject as fast as possible; he does self-analysis better after a Bills loss than a win. When asked about his off-field life, it was mostly crickets.

Allen, though, did acknowledge how well 2025 is going so far. He won the NFL MVP in February. He signed a new contract in March. And he got married in May.
鈥淭hey鈥檝e all been big, none more than marrying my best friend,鈥 he said. 鈥淪he makes everything easier. That鈥檚 the most important decision I鈥檒l make in my life and I made the right one.鈥
Allen wasn鈥檛 keen on dishing details about the wedding, which was attended by Bills coach Sean McDermott, teammates Mitchell Trubisky, Shane Buechele, David Edwards, Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown and former teammate Gabe Davis.
Allen didn鈥檛 have any groomsmen, but he and friends took a golf trip that served as a bachelor鈥檚 weekend.

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen wears his new wedding ring while meeting with the media after Tuesday鈥檚 minicamp practice.
鈥淚t was awesome,鈥 Buechele said of the wedding. 鈥淚t was a beautiful day and they did a great job from the opening ceremony to the reception 鈥 everything. It was really cool to see and celebrate their love together.鈥
Said McDermott: 鈥淚 was very grateful to be there. It was what you would expect of a wedding. Great to see. Two really special families coming together.鈥
Allen was back with his football family on Monday 鈥 he missed last week鈥檚 organized team activity workouts (slacker!) following the wedding. McDermott said Allen was one of the first players at the facility to get his physical.
Appropriate because entering his eighth season, Allen is the heartbeat of this locker room, this organization and this region.
鈥淩eally appreciate him being here because this is his team and he is our unquestioned leader,鈥 McDermott said.
(At this point, I will acquiesce to Allen鈥檚 request and get back to football.)
The Bills鈥 championship window remains unquestionably wide open because of Allen. The AFC East is re-tooling (again) with new coaches and the conference remains as formidable as ever (still goes through Kansas City). But the Allen we saw last year was a player at the peak of his powers and there is no reason to think that won鈥檛 be the case this year.
The Bills don鈥檛 need Allen to be any kind of New Josh. Just be The Same Josh.
Play efficiency (six interceptions in 565 regular season/playoff attempts) and educated aggressiveness (he will never a great slider, but knows how to avoid the big hit). Be great in the red zone (second in touchdown rate) and on third down (seventh-best). The Bills are favored in all 17 games and No. 17 is the primary reason.
The Bills need Allen to be The Same Josh on the field because they know the non-sports spotlight won鈥檛 change him one bit.
鈥淭his is what has been really fun to watch and really good for our community and fan base 鈥 they have a player like Josh that they can cheer for and he makes amazing plays and continues to grow as a quarterback on the field,鈥 McDermott said. 鈥淛ust as amazing is who he is as a person, the family he鈥檚 come from and who he continues to be 鈥 a genuine, authentic person.鈥
Allen has his personal-life hardware (the ring) and professional individual life hardware (the MVP trophy). Now it鈥檚 about kicking the door down and reaching the Bills鈥 Super Bowl since the 1993 season and winning the franchise鈥檚 first Lombardi Trophy 鈥 and adding another ring to his hand.
