The Cayuga County Office Building is closed Wednesday due to wind damage, according to Cayuga County Legislature Chair Aileen McNabb-Coleman.Ìý
The building's roof was damaged in the storm, with debris falling to the ground and some hanging over the side of the building. The driveway from Genesee Street to the lower parking lot behind the building is roped off due to the debris.Ìý
McNabb-Coleman said there will be a building-wide assessment to determine if there is additional damage. She thanked Gary Duckett, the county's superintendent of buildings and grounds, and his team for working through the night.Ìý
There will be an update on the building's status later today, McNabb-Coleman added. Two county Legislature committee meetings that were scheduled for Wednesday have been canceled.Ìý
The wind storm caused damage in the Auburn area and left thousands without power.Ìý
